RMT’s metals treatment technology has enabled many companies to save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in treatment and disposal costs. RMT's proprietary treatment chemical, EnviroBlend, can be mixed with process streams to stabilize heavy metals before a waste is generated. This process is typically exempt from RCRA permitting and you can generally dispose of the waste at a nonhazardous landfill. Lead Paint Removal
RMT’s metals treatment technology can be used as an innovative and cost-effective treatment for lead paint residue. This technique involves painting over the old lead-based paint with the Enviro-Prep System treatment additive. Enviro-Prep is a coating that can be applied to any surface that can be sandblasted. Since the additive is applied before the paint is removed, it avoids the generation of a hazardous waste. Enviro-Prep can be disposed of in nonhazardous landfills and will stabilize the lead to prevent leaching into the groundwater. Treatment of Utility Access Point Sediment
RMT's metals treatment technology can be used to treat lead found in utility access points. Enviro-Prep Special can be poured into access points from 2- or 5-gallon pails--no special equipment is needed. Application of Enviro-Prep Special can easily be integrated into existing access point cleaning procedures. The treated sediment is nonhazardous and can be disposed of at a Subtitle D landfill. This results in significant cost savings from reduced testing, transportation, and disposal costs.
